Luxmore's Garden
July
Page 1

It was a lovely afternoon... hot but nice... Steve went off to fish along the Thames at the corner of the field across the road. I was busy and decided to follow him in a bit. I took my camera as I intended to have a wander around Luxmore's Garden and see what changes there had been since the spring.

I went through the iron gate into the field and started across the grass. A bit of movement caught my eye and I went over to have a look. It was a wee little hedgehog... well.. maybe not so wee... but certainly not an adult, maybe 3/4 grown.

The Little Hedgehog

I like wildlife encounters that are unexpected... even if they are with Mother Nature's smaller critters.
The little beastie seemed not the least perturbed by my presence, but I decided to leave it be after snapping a few pics. I made my way down the field, through the gate and over the bridge.

Looking back at Luxmore's Bridge from the garden

The heart of Luxmore's is a garden lawn in the center of which is a pool with a plinth. Now, in summer, the lavender surrounding the pool is in full bloom . The colors in the photos below don't do justice to the reality of the intense blue.
